Mouth cancer is a major health concern in India, and raising concern about the disease is equally important in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. According to national cancer estimates for 2022, India recorded approximately 83,839 new cases of mouth cancer, including 60,164 cases in men and 23,675 in women. Tobacco use, gutkha, khaini, tobacco-containing paan and supari are some of the major risk factors, while smoking and alcohol consumption can further increase the risk.
