Breast cancer remains the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the United States, excluding non-melanoma skin cancers and further accounts for approximately 30% of all new female cancer diagnosed. Current estimates project approximately 382,640 total new cases, including roughly 321,910 invasive cases and 60,730 cases of non-invasive ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in current year. Over the course of a lifetime, roughly 1 in 8 women (about 13%) will develop invasive breast cancer.
