ओरल सबम्यूकस फाइब्रोसिस (OSMF) मुँह की परत को प्रभावित करने वाली एक दीर्घकालिक (क्रॉनिक), धीरे-धीरे बढ़ने वाली और संभावित रूप से घातक (प्री-कैंसरस) बीमारी है। इसमें शुरुआत में सूजन होती है, जिसके बाद मुँह की श्लेष्मा झिल्ली (म्यूकोसा) के नीचे धीरे-धीरे रेशेदार (फाइब्रस/निशान जैसे) ऊतक बनने लगते हैं। इसके परिणामस्वरूप गाल, होंठ, कोमल तालु (सॉफ्ट पैलेट) और आस-पास के ऊतकों में अकड़न आ जाती है और उनकी लचीलापन कम हो जाता है।

Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSMF) is a chronic, progressive, and potentially malignant (precancerous) disorder that affects the lining of the mouth. It is characterized by inflammation followed by the gradual formation of fibrous (scar-like) tissue beneath the oral mucosa, leading to stiffness and reduced flexibility of the cheeks, lips, soft palate, and surrounding tissues.

तोंडातील व्रण ही एक सामान्य स्थिती आहे जी साधारणपणे १–२ आठवड्यांत बरी होते. मात्र, तीन आठवड्यांनंतरही न बरा होणारा व्रण दुर्लक्षित करू नये. बहुतेक तोंडाचे व्रण निरुपद्रवी असतात (ज्यांना सामान्यतः "कॅन्कर सोअर" किंवा "अफ्थस अल्सर" म्हणतात) आणि ते सहसा ७–१४ दिवसांत आपोआप बरे होतात. परंतु जो व्रण बरा होत नाही, तो एखाद्या गंभीर आजाराचे लक्षण असू शकतो, त्यामुळे वैद्यकीय सल्ला घेणे आवश्यक आहे.

Breast cancer occurs when cells in breast tissue grows uncontrollably. It's classified into invasive (spreading into surrounding tissue) and non-invasive (in situ, such as DCIS) forms, and further staged based on how far it has spread. About 66% of breast cancer cases are diagnosed at the localized stage (before the cancer has spread outside the breast). In localized breast cancer treatments tend to work best.
